Relations between BiH and Montenegro at the highest Level

The deputy chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdic met on Friday in Sarajevo with the President of Montenegro’s Assembly Ivan Brajovic and the delegation of the Montenegrin Parliament attending the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the South-East European Cooperation Process (PSSEECP).

During the meeting, it was jointly stated that relations between the two countries, especially after the signing of the State Border Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, at the highest level, which, as emphasized, opens a lot of room for expansion and improvement of cooperation in all areas.

The speakers exchanged information on the current political and economic situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro and stressed the importance of joint work on eliminating customs barriers and better infrastructure linking the two countries with road and rail communications.

They also talked about the regional political situation, particularly about the common need for the European Union (EU) to recognize the importance of enlargement to the Western Balkans region and to evaluate and reward the positive moves that the countries of the region make in the process of European integration. In this connection, the highest officials of the parliaments of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro have assessed that the European perspective of the Western Balkan states is the most important political tool for regional integration and pointed out that the two friendly and neighboring countries will continue to support each other on their way to EU membership, News Agency Patria reports.
