Traffic Jams Relief radiosarajevo.baWith the aim of relieving the traffic and jams in Sarajevo, three roundabouts are to be constructed: two in the settlement Pofalići and one at the Square of Heroes. Road next to the Tobacco Factory Sarajevo, precisely the junction of the streets Drinska and Humska, will be reconstructed, and a roundabout will be made at the junction of the streets Put života and Hamdije Čemerlića. The third roundabout will be constructed within the continuation of construction of the South Longitudinal, at the intersection of the streets of Porodice Ribar and Aleja Lipa at the Square of Heroes.

A smaller roundabout will be constructed at the junction of the streets Drinska and Humska, while the larger one will be at the intersection of the streets Put života and Hamdije Čemerlića.

The Municipality of Novo Sarajevo stated that the Directorate for Roads of the Sarajevo Canton will make project documentation for both roundabouts which will then be delivered to the Cantonal Ministry of Transportation for approval.

“After the consent is given, the solving of property and legal issues for both roundabouts is expected, as well as the issuance of urban and construction permit. After gathering the necessary documentation, an Agreement on co-financing of construction between the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo and the Directorate for Roads of the Sarajevo canton will be signed,” the Municipality stated.

Only upon the completion of project documentation, which is in the process of making, the amount of funds necessary for construction of the both roundabouts will be known. The execution of works is planned in 2016.

In the middle of 2015, the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo ordered the making of project documentation for the construction of a roundabout in the settlement the Square of Heroes at the junction of the streets Porodice Ribar and Aleja lipa.
