An investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is located at the Bijela forest site on Kameničko brdo in the municipality of Bratunac, where he is managing and coordinating the process of exhumation and search for mortal remains.

During a field inspection and exhumation, the mortal remains of at least one person were found.

The found mortal remains will be sent for further forensic processing, in order to determine the identity of the victim through a DNA analysis.

According to available information, it is assumed that the mortal remains found at this location belong to the Bosniak victims from the area of the Srebrenica enclave, who were killed in July 1995.

The process is being led by a representative of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, in the presence of a forensic doctor, as well as a representative of the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH (INO), and the site is being secured by members of the RS Ministry of Interior.

Work on the exhumation continues.
