Repeated Elections for President of the RS Scheduled for February

The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted a Decision at today’s session on the call and holding of early elections for the President of the Republika Srpska at 136 polling stations in 17 constituencies.

Early elections for the President of the Republika Srpska will be held on 08.02.2026.

The funds to ensure the exercise of the authority of the Central Election Commission of BiH to conduct early elections will be secured in the budget of the institutions of BiH, in accordance with Article 1.2a paragraph (2) and Article 1.2b of the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Article 11 paragraphs (7) and (8) of the Law on Financing the Institutions of BiH, within 15 days from the date of today’s decision, and paid into the Single Account of the Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The request for securing 600,000 BAM necessary for the implementation of early elections for the President of the Republika Srpska will be submitted today to the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH.

The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina shall adopt and publish the Instructions on the Timelines and Sequence of Election Activities for the Repeated Early Elections after the funds for the conduct of the repeated early elections have been secured in accordance with Article 1.2a of the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The repeated elections shall be conducted on the basis of the same candidate lists and the same extracts from the Central Voters’ Register that were used in the annulled elections.
