Representatives of the executive and legislative authorities of all three peoples in the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in anticipation of the 26th anniversary of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, signed a joint statement today in which they once again clearly and unequivocally confirm their full commitment to preserving its political stability and institutional functionality.
“Acting in accordance with the Final Arbitration Decision and the Constitution of BiH, we remain committed to implementing key reforms, strengthening economic development and improving infrastructure, as priorities of immediate importance for our peoples and citizens. We emphasize that the institutions of the Brčko District of BiH are capable and responsible of solving all issues within their jurisdiction independently, through dialogue, agreement and consensus, respecting the fundamental principles on which the District is based,” states the written statement signed by the Mayor of the Brčko District, Siniša Milić, Deputy Mayor Anto Dimić, Chief Coordinator of the Government Esed Kadrić, President of the District Assembly Damir Bulčević and Vice President of the Assembly Ivo Filipović.
At the same time, the leaders of the District called on political actors at other levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina to refrain from activities and statements that do not contribute to the stability and implementation of policies agreed within the framework of the District’s institutions.
“Brčko district of BiH remains a space of dialogue, responsible management and common interest of all peoples and citizens,” reads the end of the joint statement of the authorities in Brčko district of BiH.
