The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Republika Srpska (RS) issued a decision approving the import of 20.000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine “Sputnik Ve”, as was confirmed by the Ministry.

The decision was issued based on a request for import submitted by the wholesaler of medicines “Krajina Grupa” from Banja Luka.

The Ministry notes that this is an urgent import of a medicine that does not have authorization for placing in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), and is necessary to protect the health of the population at the suggestion of the health institution, ie in accordance with the contract signed between the Institute of Public Health of RS and “Krajina Grupa”.

According to the information of the wholesaler, this medicine is expected to arrive at the airport in Belgrade during the weekend, from where it will be sent to RS.

After the completion of the customs procedure, it will be sent for control of the quantity to the competent Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of BiH.

Once the approval for the use of this medicine is obtained, it is planned to continue with the implementation of immunization against coronavirus, under the Vaccination Plan in RS.

The Ministry recalls that this plan envisages that health workers, users, and employees in institutions for the accommodation of the elderly, the elderly population, and people with chronic diseases will be given priority when it comes to the use of vaccines that arrive in RS, BHRT writes.
