Meeting of Moneyval started yesterday and will last until April 16th. Samir Omerhodžić, member of the team of Bosnia and Herzegovina at Moneyval, is attending this meeting, writes news agency Patria. Today’s sitting of the Committee of Experts of the Council of Europe will be held, regarding the evaluation of anti-Money laundering measures and the financing of terrorism, directly affecting B&H.
Some media reported that B&H could end up on the blacklist again, despite the fact that article of the Criminal Law regarding terrorist financing was adopted. Omerhodžić says that we should wait for the session and not make possible scenarios.
“We cannot make any scenario before the sitting. With adoption of this article of the Criminal Law, we have met the obligation that is required from us. Will the countries ask for greater commitments from us we do not know. But the result from the December session was that B&H must adopt this article related to the financing of terrorism” says Omerhodžić.
He added that it can very easily happen that some of the country simply raise the question of whether B&H has done enough or not.
