Restriction of Movement for Migrants in the City of Bihac?

The measure of restricting the movement of migrants in populated areas should start to be applied as of Tuesday.

The decision was announced last week by the Una Sana Canton Government’s Task Force on Migration Issues.

The authorities have taken this step because of the recent influx of migrants, and not even three months after the meeting of representatives of BiH and the European Commission in Brussels, additional capacity has not been secured along the migrant route through our country.

As Nermin Kljajic, USC Minister of Internal Affairs, previously told Avaz newspapers, the situation is getting worse day by day and the influx of migrants is increasing. “We have a far greater number of migrants outside reception facilities, because accommodation in reception centers is all occupied.

Significantly, this situation is worsening day by day. Nutrition and health care are left to international organizations.” Kljajic said. Outside the reception centers, around 2,500 refugees and migrants are currently estimated to be staying in parks, abandoned facilities and unreported private accommodation in Velika Kladuša, Cazin and Bihac, seriously damaging the security and epidemiological situation in Una Sana Canton.
