The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina has determined the results of the early elections for the President of Republika Srpska, in which Siniša Karan, the candidate of the SNSD, won.
Karan won with 222,182 votes, or 50.39 percent, according to the Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH, based on all polling stations processed.
SDS candidate Branko Blanuša won 212,605 votes, or 48.22 percent, while the candidate of the Alliance for New Politics, Dragan Đokanović, won 2,018 votes, or 0.46 percent.
Nikola Lazarević of the Ecological Party of Republika Srpska won 1,698 votes, or 0.39 percent, independent candidate Igor Gašević 1,353 votes, or 0.31 percent, while independent candidate Slavko Dragičević won 1,066 votes, or 0.24 percent.
According to CEC data, out of 1,264,366 registered voters, 449,376 voters or 35.54 percent exercised their right to vote in the elections.
There were 440,922 valid ballots or 98.12 percent, 850 blank ballots or 0.19 percent, while 7,604 ballots or 1.69 percent were invalid according to other criteria.
Following this decision, a request for a recount of ballots can be submitted within 72 hours of the day the results are announced, as well as an objection to the accuracy of the announced results within 24 hours.
