Revival of Poultry Production in Bosanski Šamac

Poultry production in Bosanski Šamac that stopped in 1991 has experienced a revival thanks to the company ‘Brojler Zlatno Pile” from Sarajevo, which began its work in this municipality. Previously there were 25 farms in operation, and now there are 18.

The company intends to put into function all 25 farms and to employ 200 people in the next period. The intention is to bring production to the pre-war level, and to upgrade it and adopt it to new technologies.

The agricultural engineer from the Department of Agriculture in the municipality Mijo Brandić said that poultry production has a tradition and perspective, and that all farms should be consolidated into one company and to jointly appear on the market.

Stating that this production is one of the fastest, Brandić said that production of chicken interesting for the future, given that the meat is healthy.

‘’This production has the infrastructure and, what is most important, human resources and a skilled work force’’, said Brandić.
