Rifet Karic, who set off on foot from BiH to perform Hajj, has arrived at Arafat

Yesterday, future pilgrims spent their day at Arafat, including Rifet Karic from Busovaca, who began his journey on foot over three months ago.

Karic has endured difficult days over the past three months to reach Mecca, where he completed the rituals of Hajj, and yesterday, he was at Arafat with all future pilgrims. Arafat is an elevation located about 20 kilometers from Mecca, and staying there before Eid al-Adha is one of the Hajj rites.

In an interview, Karic mentioned that he faced numerous difficulties crossing the desert to reach Mecca. He described his ordeal, where he, along with a group of several dozen people, reached a hotel at night while hiding because he did not have a visa. He received a visa valid for one year starting from May 30th of this year, but it does not apply during the Hajj rituals.

“I risked several times and visited the Kaaba. Even if they arrest me, I have no other solution. My wish has been fulfilled, thank Allah. It can’t be described in words. What I experienced, all the discomforts and trials, now it is a beautiful experience. This is a unique journey, but I would advise anyone not to go as I did. I stayed in Amman for 46 days while waiting for the visa. Knowing myself and the circumstances, I think no one else would have endured,” Karic said.

He added that standing on Arafat is the most crucial part for him because without it, there is no Hajj, and judging by the photos, Karic has reached his destination.

“I have a visa that is not valid during the Hajj rituals. As soon as they are over, it is valid for a year. I am aware of the punishment that awaits me if they catch me at Arafat or somewhere else, but this was a long journey,” Karic added.

Karic stated that by going on Hajj, he fulfilled the dream that he had wanted to achieve for 11 years, Klix.ba writes.
