A column of horsemen, dressed in traditional Bosnian clothes, will depart from the park At mejdan at 9 a.m. and the Mayor of the Stari Grad Municipality Ibrahim Hadžibajrić will hand them over the flag of the Stari Grad Municipality.

The event 506th Days of Ajvatovica began in early May and a program which is to be performed in cities throughout the Central Bosnia Canton was prepared as well. Different program features are announced, such as traditional international folklore festival, international karate tournament, performances of the Sarajevo Philharmonic, concerts, literary nights, promotions, exhibitions and many others.

The event will last until June 3, while the central event on Ajvatovica will be held on May 29.

The event is aimed at promoting religious, cultural, spiritual and traditional values. The project also promotes coexistence and good neighborly relations. Moreover, Ajvatovica also contributes to the improvement of tourism and tourist offers in BiH.

Ajvatovica is a tradition pilgrimage of Bosniaks towards the cracked rock on the Šuica mountain. According to a legend, the rock cracked while Ajvaz dedo, a pious man, prayed to the God that water emerges from this rock and flows to Prusac.

In the past several years, this traditional gathering of religous men and women from the entire Europe has developed into an international cultural-religious event whose contents are organized in eight cities of the Central Bosnia.
