“Under the Same Roof”: Photo Competition about Life of Roma in B&H

pod_istim_krovomCivil Rights Defenders is opening a new competition for best photographs about lives of Roma in B&H. The competition “Under the same roof” is realized with the help of the the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

The jury, which will be formed of outstanding artists and activists for the protection of human rights, will choose the 12 best photographs. Those photographs will be printed in the special calendar for 2014, and the best 20 photographs will be shown at the exhibition in Sarajevo.

Roma people are considered to be ones of the most discriminated and most endangered communities in B&H. In addition, B&H society and institutions on all levels need to do more in order to remove the discriminatory practices towards Roma. Also, the lives of Roma people, their visibility and living conditions should be improved.

The competition is open until 1 April 2014, and all interested can send their photographs via the following email: bosnia.underthesameroof@civilrightsdefenders.org.
