The Coalition “Jednakost” will organize in Tuzla today a roundtable called “Status of Others and Amendments to Constitution in Tuzla Canton”.

The Coalition said that it is imperative that discrimination in BiH be abolished.

The goal of the roundtable is to draw attention of the Tuzla canton government to these problems, and to try to foster a partnership in which civil society would play an important role in constitutional amendments.

“Even if the constitutive peoples in BiH are in a difficult positions wherever they are a minority, we still think that people who do not declare to belong to any of the three groups are in a more difficult position. The Coalition will make considerable efforts to amend the Constitution at all levels of government, in order to eliminate the discrimination of non-constitutive peoples in the Constitution’’, stated in a call for participation at the roundtable.

They recalled that the implementation of “Sejdić-Finci” is a priority of BiH as soon as possible for its European path.

“We hope that the other cantons in the FBiH would follow the example of Canton Sarajevo and would adopt amendments to the Constitution as soon as possible, which would guarantee equal participation in government’’, said the statement.
