RS depends on the Loan, Situation with MMF has to be solved

cavicPresident of The National Democratic Movement (NDP) Dragan Cavic stated that RS has problem of budget deficit, which is, according to him, the result of wrong economic policy that is being implemented by current government for the last 11 years.

“RS became dependent on loan funds for budget deficit coverage. It is almost impossible to keep budget liquidity without load funds,” stated Cavic.

He noted that the RS came into situation to unfavorably indebt itself, with high interest rates.

“Government indebted the RS with securities emission on domestic financial market, but that is very expensive. Last emission of 60 million BAM brings additional 30 million BAM of interest rates which means that 90 million BAM has to be returned”, warned Cavic.

Therefore, he says, external indebt of RS is “necessity” and the question of loan will have to be solved with MMF.

Cavic claims that the decision on arrangement of BiH and MMF should not be “linked” with other questions, such as adaptation of Stabilization and Association Agreement.

He said that his party supports the initiative to call on the special session of Parliament in order to adopt a new law that will solve the issue of, as he stated, their own statistical recording and methodology within the RS, which is within the conclusion that was earlier adopted by the National Assembly.

He confirmed that NDP supports candidacy of Slavko Vucurevic for the Mayor of Trebinje.
