As part of the Sarajevo Canton Days event, a formal session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly will be held tonight, where the highest awards will be given to this year’s laureates.
To the Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Bosnia and Herzegovina Rezek N.M. Namoor will be awarded the Charter of the Canton of Sarajevo and will be declared an Honorary Citizen of the Canton of Sarajevo, due to his outstanding merits and contribution to the development of international relations based on the principles of solidarity and democracy, and the promotion of peace, tolerance and humanity.
Among others, prominent actor Josip Pejaković will be awarded the Sarajevo Canton Plaque, in recognition of his exceptional contribution to the development and affirmation of theater and film art in Sarajevo Canton and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the great fighter and athlete Ismail Barlov – the Sarajevo Canton Plaque, in recognition of his exceptional contribution to the development and affirmation of Sarajevo Canton in the field of sports.
To the association of fighters-underage volunteers of the defense-liberation war ’92 – ’95. Sarajevo Canton will be awarded the Sarajevo Canton Plaque for their exceptional contribution to the defense of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its civilizational values, as well as their contribution to resocialization, rehabilitation and integration of the veteran population into society.
The Institute for History in Sarajevo will be awarded the Sarajevo Canton Plaque, due to their outstanding contribution to the scientific research of the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the promotion of its historical identity, and raising awareness in society about the importance of knowing one’s own past and affirming knowledge about the history of our homeland on the international level.
The meeting will be held at 19:30 at the National Theater in Sarajevo, it was announced by the CS Protocol and Press Service.
