The Director of the RS Tax Administration Zora Vidović and the Director of the Agency for Information Society of the RS Srđan Rajčević signed an agreement today on service contract certification, which introduced an electronic signature in the business of this administration.
On this occasion, Vidović was given a qualified digital certificate, said ATV.
She told journalists that the introduction of an e-signature is an important event for the administration, which communicated with 1,7 million taxpayers, and said that it would lead to savings in material costs by at least 20 percent, with great savings over time.
She said that the Tax Administration will insist that the certification of taxpayers begin as soon as possible, explaining that the real effect will be achieved only through their certification.
“Our current cooperation with taxpayers is expensive. The signing of today’s agreement of the Tax Administration begins with the operation of electronic documents and this is a one-way form of communication to the taxpayers’’, said Vidović.
Rajčević stated that the signing of the agreement was done as part of the project that the Agency for Information Society realized within the RS public administration and it represents the creation of an e-government.
According to him, the use of e-signatures will to some extent lead to the elimination of paper forms in business, and it means that paper documents that are in circulation have its counterpart in electronic form.
Rajčević said that with this, the work of the Tax Administration is accelerated, as well as its efficiency and transparency.
He added that, according to the plan of reform in the registration of companies, in the next year the introduction of e-signature in business undertakings should begin.
Tax Administration is the third institution in the RS that has introduced an e-signature. The Ministry for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education and Culture of the RS has already introduced e-signatures.
