donfangToday in Banja Luka, the Head of Chinese company Donfang Electric for Central and Eastern Europe, Jongbin Liang, presented to the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of B&H Entity RS, Petar Djokic, a letter of intent regarding cooperation in the project of building a new thermal power plant in Gacko, with an installed capacity of 350 MW, as announced from the Minister’s cabinet.

Minister Djokic said that it is very important for the realization of this important project in the electric power systems to have a partner that guarantees quality and quick construction of thermal power plants and who already has successfully implemented the construction project of the Thermal Power Plant in Stanari.

At the moment, there is a strong interest and commitment of the Government of the RS to build a new, modern thermal power plant in Gacko which, applying the highest European standards in terms of emissions and energy efficiency, will significantly raise the volume of generated electricity, contribute to economic development and creating new workplaces,’’ said Djokic.

He added that the aim of the Government is to start with the implementation of this extremely important project in the spring of next year, which is why the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the RS and Donfang is planned to be signed by the beginning of the next month.
