In early July this year, the company Agrona Ltd. Živinice started the repurchase of pickles from its partners. As the implementer of the project ‘’USAID Partnership for the Development of Agribusiness’’, the company Agrona signed contracts with partners in over 60 municipalities in B&H, and more than 4.000 people will be involved in the project.
The main goal of the project is to increase the primary production of pickles across B&H.
‘’Seeds and repro material were distributed to the partners in May, and now we are harvesting the first products of work’’, said Ismeta Jakupović, the director of the company Agrona.
‘’During this season, we expect the repurchase of over 5.000 tons of pickles, part of which is designed for the domestic production under the Natura brand and the rest for the processing capacities across Europe through the company incurred in the BH diaspora, Brajlović GmbH Vienna’’, added Jakupović.
The ‘’USAID Partnership for the Development of Agribusiness’’ is the largest project in the field of growing pickles in B&H supported by the USAID, partner company from the BH diaspora Brajlović GmbH Vienna, and domestic companies Natura Ltd. Bijeljina, Brams Ltd. Sarajevo and Plant Ltd. Tuzla.
