Personnel from EUFOR came together in Camp Butmir to participate in the charity event ‘Run For Life’, organised by EUFOR personnel to raise vital funds for the Hemato-Oncology Department of the University Clinical Centre Sarajevo.
The event saw hundreds of EUFOR personnel from numerous contributing nations take part, demonstrating solidarity, compassion, and a shared commitment to supporting children undergoing treatment and their families. Through donations and participation, personnel will contribute towards the purchase of life-saving medical equipment for the department.
‘Run For Life’ highlighted the strong connection between EUFOR and the local community, reflecting the values of cooperation, unity, and mutual support which underpin the mission. The event also demonstrated the commitment of EUFOR personnel not only to maintaining peace and stability, but also to supporting the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina through meaningful community engagement.
The funds raised will directly support the work of medical professionals caring for children undergoing specialised treatment, helping to improve both care and outcomes for patients and their families.
Through initiatives such as ‘Run For Life’, EUFOR continues to strengthen ties with communities across Bosnia and Herzegovina while contributing positively beyond its core mandate of supporting a safe and secure environment for all citizens.
