Due to the Russian airstrikes, the eastern part of Ukraine was under air alert for more than five hours, the Ukrainian military said, and Moscow launched several waves of attacks on Kyiv and other cities.

Russian drones entered the capital of Ukraine in several waves and from different directions, said the head of the Kyiv military administration, Serhii Popko.

All air weapons were destroyed, and according to preliminary information, there are no reports of damage or injuries, he added.

According to him, the air alert for the capital and the region was announced three times during the night and lasted for more than five hours.

The mayor of Odesa, Henadiy Trukhanov, announced on Telegram that Russia had targeted the city during the night and that several explosions had been reported. There are no reports of damage or injuries.

The governor of the Kherson region, Oleksandr Prokudin, said on Telegram on Sunday that in the last 24 hours, one civilian was killed and 15 others were wounded in Russian attacks on the region.

Russia has not commented on the attacks.

Both sides deny targeting civilians in the war, which Russia launched in February 2022 with a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. But thousands of civilians died, mostly Ukrainians.
