Russia announced on Sunday that it had shot down 24 Ukrainian drones that were flying towards the capital Moscow, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on Telegram.

“Emergency services are working at the sites where the debris fell,” he added.

There were no reports of deaths or injuries.

Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on the Russian claim.

Earlier, the Defense Ministry said its air defenses had shot down 123 Ukrainian drones in strikes overnight and Sunday morning, 11 of which were shot down over Moscow and the surrounding region.
