Russian Ambassador Warned Of War If NATO Shoots Down A Russian Plane

Russian ambassador to France Alexey Meshkov warned that the shooting down of a Russian plane by NATO “would mean war,” referring to the proposal of the United States (U.S.) President Donald Trump.

“You know, there are many NATO planes that violate Russian airspace; this happens quite often, but they are not shot down,” Meshkov said.

Earlier, Trump, during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that NATO should shoot down Russian planes if they enter the airspace of member countries.

“First, we are not playing with anyone. Second, after the West has deceived us so many times, we believe only in facts,” said Meshkov, referring to the accusations that Russian drones violated the airspace of Estonia, Romania, and Poland in recent days.

The ambassador emphasized that European Union (EU) countries have not provided “anything tangible” to prove Russia’s involvement in the alleged violations of European airspace. He added that the Russian response to the accusations was categorical: “We deny it.”
