This year, for the first time in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Emina Dervišević will bring the European Award in Medicine, which she received thanks to the continuous work and effort she invests in forensic medicine.
We wrote about Emina Dervišević earlier, and her work was recognized in Europe, which is why the commission decided to award her the European Statue of Excellence on November 30 in Paris at the famous Ritz Hotel, and everything will be broadcast live in front of an audience of millions.
In an interview with Klix.ba, Dervišević said that this is not an award for one work, but for the overall results that she presented to the world, for an era of her work and contribution to forensic medicine where, in the end, the purpose is much more important than the role.
“This is an award for youth and a message to young generations, my students in particular, that with work we can do anything, there are no limits with an unwavering will, good organization and a perfect team of people and colleagues who will act for the overall well-being,” says Dervišević.
She points out that this time the award was not given for work, but for the most representative results in the field of forensic medicine, for new ideas and undertakings.
“My profiles are public, as are the results. After last year’s award, I joined one of the largest collaborative networks in the world called ‘Global Burden of Disease’ and now we are engaged in examining the burden of disease and death as an outcome. So far I have worked on nine global projects as the only member from our country, and the results will be representative by the end of the year,” adds our interlocutor.
She thanked the team of professors and colleagues on the way to the European Statue of Excellence.
In addition to this award, Dervišević is still in active nomination for three awards, namely Večernjak’s Seal, MFUNSA nominated her as a candidate for the Republic of Austria Award as well as for the Federal Award for the Popularization and Promotion of Science, and all results should be known by the end of the year.
In the end, she emphasized that on the way to success and results, she needs more than ever the support of all levels of government, universities and faculties, Klix.ba reports.
