Russian light multi-purpose Ansat Helicopter arrived in Banja Luka

At a solemn ceremony held on February 3 in Banja Luka, the Russian light multi-purpose Ansat twin-engine helicopter with the associated medical equipment was handed over to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.

The event was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska Dragan Lukac, the head of the Republika Srpska representation in Moscow Dusko Petrovic and from the Russian side the general director of the Russian Helicopters holding Andrej Boginski, the executive director of the Kazan Helicopter Institute Alexei Belih and the Russian deputy ambassador to BiH Alexei Kerestedzhiyants.

As stated, the plan is to use the aircraft in search and rescue operations and for that purpose it is equipped with a place to transport the injured person, then with two chairs for medical workers, an artificial lung ventilation system, tele-ECG and other equipment necessary for evacuation of patients with injuries of varying severity.

The official handover of the first Ansat to the Republika Srpska took place in Russia on November 23, 2020, and during this and next year, the remaining two ordered helicopters will be delivered.
