Exploration_and_Production_Onshore1The Russian Company “Kalinjingrad geofizika” began researching the potential for finding gas and oil in the municipality.

The activites are being conducted in accordance with the contract with the Company for research and production of oil and gas “Jadran Naftagas” from Banja Luka and at the approval of the government of the RS.

The Deputy Mayor of municipality Prnjavor Božidar Ivanović  said that they had earlier asked the Russian company to submit coordinates of locations where they will conduct research, so that citizens would be informed on time on where work would be conducted, as well as of the possible consequences of the use of the special machinery and vehicles in the field.

Ivanović confirmed that a ministry for the evaluation and compensation has been formed. “The team of people from the Banja Luka ‘Jadran Naftagas’ per application, will go into the field, assess the damage and within a few days will make a payment’’, said Ivanović .

It is anticipated that there will be research in the areas of Kulaši – Popovići, from Ribnjak towards Štrpci and to Vijačani, which will last until the end of May and that around 50 people will be employed for this period.
