European Enlargement Commissioner Štefan Fule said that the EC took into consideration the readiness of Zagreb to fulfil BiH request that the current regime of using IDs when crossing the border remains, but noted that the final decision on that issue will be given by EU member states.

He greeted the progress concerning the building of border crossings and invited both sides to finish that job urgently, before Croatia enters the EU.

He also greeted the finalisation of agreement on local border traffic, which will simplify the traffic of citizens that live in border regions, agreement on border crossings and joint statement on agreement Neum-Ploče, said the EC.

Fule also called both sides to sign these treaties by the end of May.

BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs Zlatko Lagumdžija, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia Vesna Pusić and host EU Enlargement Commissioner Štefan Fule attended the trilateral meeting.

Fule greeted the positive atmosphere of the meeting.
