The Delegation of the Government of Tuzla Canton (TC) and the Alliance of Independent Trade Unions of Tuzla Canton reached an agreement and created preconditions that are necessary for extending collective agreements for the year of 2018.

After negotiations and constructive compliance, as well as appreciation of the reality and realistic possibilities, it was agreed that the base for calculation of salaries in the fields of education, police, judiciary and administration in TC will amount to 404 BAM from January 2018, and that the fee for food and the use of the annual holiday is kept at 8 BAM, or 50 % of the average salary in FBiH. Looking at the percentage, this represents an increase of the salary by about 6.5 %.

The Prime Minister of TC Gutic stated that salaries in this sector were decreased in 2012, and today, they are in a situation to correct this injustice and make a compensation for the employees. He added that this will be an increase by 6.5 %, and it will cost 11 million BAM at the annual level.

“Today, we managed to finalize the negotiations and we have agreed to comply the base at 404 BAM, and that the fee for food remains 8 BAM and regress will be 50 % of the average salary in the FBiH. We reached this compromise solution with the understanding of the Government and the Trade Union,” stated Fahrudin Sahovic, the Chairman of the Cantonal Board of the Alliance of Independent Trade Union of TC.

In the upcoming days, the conversations with the union of police officers will take place with the aim to comply the Law on Salaries of Police Officers, and to create preconditions for this union and the Government to sign the collective agreement for the next year.
