Vice-President of Republika Srpska Ramiz Salkić stated that the financial stability of the smaller BiH entity is very questionable at this moment and, if the planned funds from the IMF are not obtained, it will be very difficult to maintain the system.
“The system will be somehow maintained until the local elections. However, after the elections, if there are no additional funds, i.e. the loan from the IMF, one of the financial links in the RS will certainly break and cause heavy losses with those who lose their income in that system. The RS is in a difficult financial situation and what Mr. Dodik says about finding the money somewhere else if the IMF does not give the money is not even something that he believes in anymore, because he knows that there is no other place,” Salkić stated.
Salkić says that Dodik’s statements about the possible meeting with the Chairman of the BiH Presidency and President of SDA Bakir Izetbegović, through which he states that the “SNSD does not have the intention to make any coalition agreements with the SDA or the intention to enter any joint institutions” are surprising.
“First of all, SDA never offered Milorad Dodik to enter the national authority instead of the Alliance for Changes and what Dodik is saying now is plain distortion of theses, something that has been seen countless times in his case. Every communication with Dodik is exclusively related to the European path of BiH and the negotiations about the coordination mechanism which is in the interest of all citizens of this country. There are no other contacts and that is the only truth,” Salkić stated.
