Salt Lake Complex Panonika: Recorded Increase in Visits

panonika lake14 500 guests visited the salt lakes complex Panonika and made a record in this year’s daily visits to Panonsko Lake.

“Panonika was visited by 20 thousand people during the weekend. We are satisfied with the number of visits considering the fact that 35 percent of guests came from an area outside of the Tuzla Canton and from neighboring countries, especially from eastern Slavonia and western Serbia as well as our fellow citizens who live in different European countries and who are present in our city,” said the Director of Public Company “Pannonica” Maid Porobić.

Since the success of both the summer and winter seasons is conditioned by weather, it is hard to make activity plans for Panonsko Lake.

More than 54 thousand guests visited the salt lakes by July 17 in comparison to a suggested plan of 200 000 thousand visitors.

However, Panonika suffered some direct and indirect damages because of the floods and they amount to 400 000 BAM when all three filter plants were flooded and parts of the beach of the nearby lake.

This would be the first time in history of Panonika to have financial losses.

“Eventual losses will be rehabilitated from the accumulated gains in previous years,” Porobić said.
