Banja Luka: “Summer on Vrbas” on July 27

Banja-Luka-VrbasThe Tourist Organization of Banja Luka announced traditional sports and cultural – entertaining event “Summer on the Vrbas River in 2014.” The event is announced for 27th of July. The planned activities will take place near the Town Bridge and along the banks of the river Vrbas.

It is planned that manifestation “Summer on Vrbas” will start with water polo game which will continue with a kayak race. In addition, the program will be enriched by the performance of the Divers and lifeguards diving club BUK.

The awards allocation for the most successful competitors is planned for the evening.

This years’  “Summer on Vrbas,” event is 61st  in a row and represents one of the oldest events in BiH.

In 1953 it was organized for the first time by members of the Academics Club Banja Luka and it was called “Carnival on the Vrbas”. During the 1980s its name was changed to “Meetings on the Vrbas” and 1995 was renamed “Summer on the Vrbas”.
