Sarajevans at the Hungaroring: Emir cheers for McLaren, Kenan for Ferrari

[wzslider autoplay=”true”]This weekend, a race for the Hungarian Grand Prix, which is run on a track Hungaroring, was held in Hungary. Sarajevans Emir Kalender and Kenan Čišija attended yesterday’s qualifications and shared part of automotive atmosphere with photographs and video clips.

Kalender is editor of BH automotive portal “Carlander” and a huge fan of the auto sports, especially the Formula 1. The proximity of Hungary was great opportunity to visit and enjoy the Hungaroring racing weekend.

“Most of the residents of our region are mostly visiting Formula 1 track in Hungary for two reasons, one is the proximity and the other summer schedule, so that the race can be matched with vacations. Therefore, you can hear the language of the former Yugoslavia in the stands. My friend Kenan and I hang out with the fans of Formula 1 from the neighboring countries. We can tell that there is a lot of us, even though the prices are pretty high,” said Kalender.

He is following the fastest circus in the world for many years and believes that the new rules had a negative effect on the attractiveness of Formula 1.

“I’m following this sport for 18 years. I must say that 10 years ago, one race was a major event that should not be missed, at least for those who are the true lovers of Formula 1. Also, old times in which drove Senna, Prost, Mansell as well as Schumacher, Hakkinen, Irvine, Sata, Alonso and others in the recent times, are specially valuable. Today, Formula 1 is something completely different, a parade of tycoons. It adapts to them, and not to regular spectators. Therefore, significant drop in the number of audience is clear. Some people are saying that the team of Mercedes is ‘guilty’ that Formula 1 has become boring, but it’s not the truth. There were teams who dominated before as well, like Ferrari with Schumacher, Red Bull with Vettel, etc. however, the changed rules in the past few years have negatively affected the interest,” said our source.

“It is clear that some rules negatively affected the Formula 1, but some other would be very welcomed, especially after the tragedy of driver Jules Bianchi.”
