Sarajevo International Airport (MAS) announced in the summer season of 2024 the re-establishment of a regular route to Abu Dhabi, Gothenburg, Oslo, Stockholm, Warsaw, Memmingen and Athens, as well as the introduction of new attractive destinations, including Milan, Brussels and Izmir.
“Also, in the upcoming summer season, Sarajevo will again be connected with the seasonal destinations of Bodrum, Antalya, Doha, Riyadh, Monastir, Kuwait, Hurghada and Thessaloniki. Therefore, we can confirm that we are expecting the best season so far with more than 30 airlines and destinations,” said Fena from MAS.
They noted that Sarajevo International Airport is in continuous negotiations with several airlines with the aim of establishing new routes, which would certainly make Sarajevo and BiH an even more attractive and accessible tourist destination.
Regarding media reports that Salam Air, a low-cost airline from Oman, will not fly from Sarajevo to Muscat this summer, the Sarajevo airport stated that the answer to that question should be given by that airline, noting that the introduction of visas for citizens of any country and so on for Oman, it has an impact on the potential of the route.
“We can confirm that the mentioned route recorded good performances in the previous summer season. However, despite the fact that BiH introduced visas for citizens of Oman from March 1, 2024, we hope that the visa regime and the fact that Salam Air does not operate flights this summer season will not significantly affect the arrival of citizens of the Sultanate of Oman to Bosnia and Herzegovina , which offer a significant number of direct lines to Sarajevo from the UAE and Saudi Arabia for arrival in our country,” said MAS.
