The Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Nihad Uk, met with the Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mohammed Meraimi. The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the current relations between the two countries, with a special emphasis on the possibilities of improving cooperation in the areas of tourism, culture, economy and education.

Ambassador Meraimi emphasized Algeria’s readiness to intensify relations and open new spaces for projects and investments. In this context, the Prime Minister Uk emphasized the potential and interest of the Sarajevo Canton in establishing direct flights between Sarajevo and Algeria, which would further strengthen tourism and economic ties between the two countries. He particularly pointed out the fact that the Sarajevo Canton has adopted a program to subsidize the development of tourism and air traffic, which could facilitate the implementation of such initiatives.

The possibility of establishing friendly relations between Sarajevo and cities in Algeria was also discussed, which would represent an additional step towards deepening bilateral relations, the Protocol and Press Service of the Canton of Sarajevo announced.
