Sarajevo Center Municipality Mayor comments after Impeachment

Srđan Mandić, whom the Centar Sarajevo Municipal Council voted to recall from the position of mayor today, said at a press conference today in Sarajevo that the way it was carried out is reminiscent of what the SDA party has been doing for years.

He specified that in addition to the nine councilors of People and Justice, there were people who were members of the SDA until recently, and that he is in contact with a large number of members of NiP who are ashamed of today’s events.

“It’s crazy to do this since the elections are in a year and from this moment my campaign for the referendum starts and I reject all the accusations they made, and criminal charges will be filed against some of them,” he said.

He emphasized that it is sad that a beautiful story ended in such a way when it comes to the Municipality of Centar, and that he will prove that the decision to recall is against the interest of the citizens of Gara and that it represents a danger to the budget.

He called on citizens to go to the referendum on September 17 and decide who is right.

The Vice President of Our Party, Alen Girt, pointed out that Mandic will remain the mayor and that apparently it bothers some people that he managed to deal with the cases of “Hastahana” and “Marindvor”.

He added that behind this is a group of people who have strong interests and reminded that Mandić determined that the debt to the Commission for Business Premises is not five million BAM, as previously claimed, but 16 million.

Dragan Stevandić from the SDP Center said that he no longer defends only the principles of the coalition, but also Srđan Mandić as a representative of the “urban” part of the city of Sarajevo against those who have learned that everything is allowed in politics in order to achieve short-term goals.
