Sarajevo hosts the Rose-Roth Seminar: BiH’s Cooperation with NATO can be much better

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s cooperation with NATO can be much better because that organization has managed to build excellent cooperation with countries that are not members, said the chairman of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly and chairman of the PSBiH Delegation in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Kemal Ademović, on Rose- Roth seminar in Sarajevo.

In his introductory presentation at the opening of the Rose-Roth seminar on the topic ‘Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans in an unstable international security environment’, Ademović reminded that from 2004 to 2010 BiH adopted a significant set of laws that made the defense sector recognizable in the region.

“It is obvious that for the past few years we have had certain problems in the region, but with political will and lessons learned from the past, we can solve it,” said Ademović.

He pointed out that the help of the international community is necessary and welcome, especially on BiH’s path to membership in the European Union and NATO.

“Personally, I have no reservations when it comes to membership in both organizations, but I also understand my colleagues who do not share that attitude, and that’s why we need an open and reasoned dialogue more than ever,” said Ademović.

He said that we need additional support, and that despite the fact that we were far behind in the implementation of the cooperation program with NATO, we need talks like today’s.

The Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PSBiH) is the host of the 105th Rose-Roth Seminar, the work of which will be attended by about 130 registered participants, including PSNATO parliamentarians, members of the PSBiH Delegation to PSNATO, and members of the Joint Commission for Defense and Security of BiH , members of the Collegium of Representatives and the House of Peoples of the PSBiH and ministers from the Council of Ministers of BiH headed by the chairwoman Borjana Krišto, the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Nermin Nikšić and the directors of police agencies, as well as the Commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo General Pamela McGaha, diplomatic representatives and experts from BiH and prestigious European institutions.

Representatives of international organizations in BiH and the non-governmental sector were also invited to the Rote-Roth seminar.

On the first day of the conference, two sessions were announced: “Recent events in BiH” and “Euro-Atlantic integration” with two panels: BiH and NATO and BiH and the EU, Fena reports.
