Sarajevo International Airport (SIA) is currently experiencing the most difficult moments since the war, but aware of the moment and the need for food and medical supplies, wants to inform the public and businessmen that the Cargo Sector during the blockade caused by the epidemiological situation regarding the coronavirus, continues to operate, accepting and dispatching goods with countries with which Bosnia and Herzegovina has engaged in foreign trade.

The transport of goods is performed with airlines that have maintained regular flights at Sarajevo International Airport, with a reduced number of daily or weekly flights, the Sarajevo International Airport stated.

In case of shipment or acceptance of large quantities of goods, SIA has created acceptable working conditions in terms of the protection of equipment and goods and workers who would handle cargo from extraordinary charter flights.

Also, SIA points out that Lufthansa’s Road Feeder Services (RFS) is still in operation, transporting goods from Vienna to Sarajevo, and according to available information, some other airlines are opening the possibility of sending air mail from Sarajevo.

In terms of accommodation capacities, the Sarajevo Airport Cargo Services Sector has more than 800 m2 of storage space, cooling chambers and a multifunctional space for the accommodation of goods of 250 m2.  Sarajevo Airport has quality equipment and highly trained staff for all operations, which is a guarantee of the quality of services, the Sarajevo International Airport stated.
