The Council of Ministers of BiH, the BiH Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees and the Jewish Community of BiH will organize a commemoration on 27th January marking the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Holocaust.
The General Assembly of the UN decided that 27 January is the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Holocaust, since on that day in 1945 the infamous concentration camp Auschwitz was liberated
The same date is accepted in BiH, and this will be the seventh year in which the BiH Council of Ministers and the Jewish Community in BiH mark this event.
This year, the organizers have decided that the central commemoration should be held today, because 27th January falls on a Sunday, and it is expected that many guests could be prevented from responding to the invite.
The program for marking the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Holocaust will feature several events-the exhibition “New Witnesses of the Holocaust”of the Holocaust Museum from Skoplje, which will be open in the Gallery “Novi Hram”, a commemoration for the victims of the Holocaust, and a screening of the film “Third half-time”, which is Macedonia’s candidate for the 2013 Oscars.
