The mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karic, met with Pope Francis yesterday in Vatican City.

As she said, the meeting with Pope Francis in the Vatican was cordial, impressive, and full of emotions.

“His support and advocating that the life and dignity of all people, regardless of religion and nation, be the greatest value and guiding principle, make him one of the greatest personalities and authorities of our time,” said Karic.

She added that Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) have a special place in the heart of this true humanist, tireless peacemaker, a man of dialogue.

“He said that we must not give up, but must build our European path bravely and diligently, in peace, faith, mutual respect, and with respect for multinational values. I thanked him for the encouraging messages and congratulated the Holy Father on the tenth anniversary of his pontificate,” Karic concluded, Klix.ba reports.
