Katarina Witt, Sanda Dubravčić Šimunjak, Jure Franko, Bojan Križaj expressed their satisfaction that, as they say, Sarajevo shines with Olympic glory.

“We are proud of everything that we can show as hosts to our guests and friends of the city. This beautiful city with the Olympic Games has always carried within it, and today it sends a message of peace, love, friendship,” emphasized the mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić.

Walking through the streets of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina in front of respected athletes, Karić recalled that the Winter Olympics were a triumph of organization, togetherness, sincere dedication and hospitality of its good and hardworking people.

“It still adorns my Sarajevans today. These were the games that revived the city, started its dynamic growth, made it richer, more modern and more beautiful in everything. That’s why today let’s show that we can do it faster, more and stronger, as a great encouragement to our youth. Let’s respect the Olympic spirit that has never left us and remind everyone that we are capable of the greatest feats,” said Karić, the City of Sarajevo announced.
