The ‘Sarajevo Outdoor Festival’, whose focus is the promotion of the tourist potential of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the country as a whole, started today on the Skakavac plateau, near Sarajevo.

The festival, which abounds in a variety of recreational and sports activities, as well as outdoor entertainment, gathered a large number of citizens, domestic and foreign tourists, lovers of a healthy lifestyle and natural beauty.

As the president of the ‘Skakavac’ Mountaineering Society Amir Bašić said on behalf of the organizer Feni, it is an event that combines the power of nature and the passion of enthusiasts for outdoor activities.

“Sarajevo Outdoor Festival is an exceptional opportunity to explore the natural beauty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, have an adventure and enjoy the unique experience offered by the Skakavac Nature Monument. We want to motivate citizens and tourists to spend more time in our mountains and show that the possibilities for the development of ecologically sustainable tourism are really great,” emphasized Bašić.

According to him, the first day of the Festival at the famous Sarajevo excursion site offered a number of interesting events, including a trail race – half marathon, recreational, canicross and B2B trail.

In addition, a bicycle race was organized, the Skakavac Climbing on the White Rock in Bukovik, followed by a walk from the plateau to the Skakavac waterfall.

Special interest was aroused by the ‘Skakavac MTB Tour’, a mountain bike race for recreational and professional cyclists, which passes through the most attractive areas of this natural monument, with a start and finish on the waterfall plateau.

Yoga lovers will have the opportunity for a ‘Sun Salutation’ session from the Sakakvac protected area. Admirers of art found their corner in the open air as part of the painting exhibition, and those who prefer sportsmanship and adventure found their place in the educational sports workshops.

According to the organizers, this two-day event is an opportunity for a unique experience, because in addition to being in nature, it offers a number of interesting activities that correspond to the various contents of the increasingly popular outdoor tourism.

The first day of the Festival, which aspires to become a traditional event and fosters a healthy relationship with the environment, is rounded off with a concert by the group ‘Zoster’, a favorite of Bosnia and Herzegovina. band, which delighted many visitors with its greatest hits.

As planned, the focus of the second day of the Festival, on Sunday, will be the “Enjoy Outdoor Sarajevo” fair, which provides an opportunity to exhibit and present unique products of adventure and sports tourism, sports equipment, local and indigenous food, sports clinics, tour operators, sports clubs and clubs for domestic and foreign tourists.
