sar dan poThe opening of the BH cultural space towards different languages, cultures, literary heritages and traditions is the primary aim of the Sarajevo Poetry Days manifestation to be held from 24th to 28th September.

So far the most distinguished poets and writers from B&H, ex-Yugoslavia, Europe and the world participated at this event.

The president of the B&H Writers Association, Dževad Karahasan pointed out that this event has an international reputation.

“This manifestation keeps its openness, its dialogue nature, the readiness to cross boundaries and exchange thoughts and artistic experiences, the interest for the modern trends in poetry, by respecting and preserving the literary tradition at the same time” – said Karahasan.

The award “Bosanski stećak”, traditionally assigned every year, will be assigned at the end of the manifestation.

“This award will be assigned posthumously to Jaša Zlobec and his father Ciril” – said Karahasan.

The Sarajevo Poetry Days is an international event founded in 1962 with a goal to preserve and improve the literary, aesthetic an etic standards of the written word in B&H.
