Minister of Transport of Canton Sarajevo Mujo Fiso, Mayor of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo Nedzad Koldzo and director of the Institute for Development of CS Ljiljana Pelidija signed the Project task for preliminary architectural and traffic solutions and detailed design of all phases of the public underground garage G3 at Kolodvorska Street in Novo Sarajevo.
“With the agreement of the Government of CS and the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo from four months ago, we have entered into this project of construction of a very complex and important traffic facility. In this way, we will define all technical parameters for ordering project documentation in the field of traffic and architectural conceptual design that are necessary to the Department for the issuance of construction and urban permit for the construction of the garage,” said Mayor Koldzo.
As they emphasized, this is a traffic object whose construction will solve the problem of lack of parking spaces in one of the busiest traffic zones in Novo Sarajevo.
“We are planning construction of a garage on two floors with around 230 parking spaces at the area of 5,562 square meters. This will ensure a sufficient number of parking spaces in this street, which will be particularly significant for users of health services of the Institute for Emergency Medical Services, which is located near this location. We are witnesses that vehicles are parked on the sidewalks, pedestrians cannot use the sidewalks, the disabled persons as well. The construction of the garage will improve current situation,” said Minister Fiso.
According to him, the total value of the project amounts to 4 million BAM, of which the Government of CS will allocate 2.5 million BAM and the rest will be allocated by the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo. Funds that will be collected from charging parking spaces will be invested in the construction of new underground garages.
They also noted that the funds were planned in the budget for next year, and all property issues have been solved. Now will follow issuance of necessary documentation from the Department of Construction, as implementer of the project, the issuance of building permits and conducting the tender procedure for the selection of contractors.
