After the analysis of 594 samples, collected in the period from December 15 to 19 this year, 123 newly infected persons with coronavirus were confirmed in the Sarajevo Canton.

Of this number, 76 infected persons, or 61.78 percent, belong to family clusters or contacts of patients from before, and they are in self-isolation from before.

At the same time, 170 people recovered from the infectious disease Covid-19, which continues today the positive trend of a higher number of recovering than the number of newly infected with this virus in the Sarajevo Canton, BHRT writes.

A total of 217 people are hospitalized in clinics and in the Isolation Clinic of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo in Podhrastovi (156), and in the General Hospital (61), four of whom use mechanical respiratory support when breathing. There are currently 23 people on non-invasive ventilation.

In the past 24 hours, 22 patients were discharged from this hospital treatment. Unfortunately, there were also four deaths, so the death toll caused by the coronavirus increased to 346 people.

Currently, 1,912 cases of coronavirus infection are active in Sarajevo Canton. From January 30 to December 19 this year, a total of 23,191 people infected with coronavirus were registered, of which 20,933 recovered from the infectious disease Covid-19.
