Sarajevo records New Cases of Covid-19

After the analysis of 421 samples, collected in the period from October 11 to 13 this year, 81 newly infected persons with coronavirus were confirmed in the Sarajevo Canton.

Sixty persons, or 74.07 percent, belong to the family clusters or contacts of previously infected people, and they are in self-isolation from before.

In the previous 24 hours, the recovery of 29 people was recorded, so that the number of active cases of coronavirus infection is currently 429. There are 50 people undergoing hospital treatment in the Isolator of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo in Podhrastovi, three of whom use mechanical respiratory support during breathing, while one person has been released from hospitalization from this isolator during the past 24 hours.

There were also two deaths recorded, so that the total number of deaths from coronavirus infection increased to 89. To date, 5,168 infected persons have been confirmed in Sarajevo Canton, of whom 4,650 have recovered from COVID infection.

In the period from September 30 to October 14 this year, 1,009 self-isolations were ordered.

“Given the current epidemiological situation and the increase in the number of newly infected with SARS-COV-2 virus, the Public Health Institute of Sarajevo Canton once again appeals to the population for increased compliance with all hygienic and epidemiological measures determined by the Order of the Federal Crisis Staff, especially in public transport, shopping malls and other gathering places “, it is stated in the announcement published on the website of the Government of Sarajevo Canton.
