The First Sarajevo Street Food Festival, which was opened two days ago at the Liberation Square “Alija Izetbegovic”, is visited by more than 20,000 gastronomic enthusiasts on an opening day.

Passers-by in Ferhadija Street and surrounding streets were attracted by the great smell of various dishes that are being prepared in more than 40 little houses in this square from the early morning hours. The Friday afternoon for many people was reserved for a visit to the first festival of this kind in our country.

“We are staying in Sarajevo for a few days now, and we have been living in Sweden for more than 20 years. This festival delighted us and offered a lot of things we wanted to eat that are characteristic for our Bosnian cuisine. I would like to thank the organizer for a great content and especially for the space and entertainment for children. Our children had such a great fun,” said Timka Filipovic.

Many Sarajevans visited the festival as well. Adnan Bilalovic was surprised by the great choice of food and he added that it is a great idea to have all these offers gathered in one place. Such a festival was really needed in Sarajevo.

The weekend was also reserved for the Sarajevo Street Food Festival. Sarajevans were enjoying great entertainment program, good food and great music. DJ Rajot entertained the visitors in the afternoon hours.

More than 40 exhibitors welcomed all visitors who were waiting for Sarajevo to get included on the list of European and world capitals and to praise with the street festival. Activities and events that will complete the time spent in this city are very interesting.

“We started with the morning aerobics and continued the morning with the Secret with advice and workshop that will help everyone who prefer sports diet. Children enjoyed the workshop named ‘Through Play to the Health’ in morning hours, and a Lego competition took place after that and it will be held every other day of the festival. Visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the central Sarajevo park with refreshments and a good snack, and DJ Calkins entertained everyone from 4.00 p.m. The Open Air Tango by Dance Club Aster was announced at 7.00 p.m. and live music and the performance of the Pikardia Band at 9:00 p.m. Interesting content will be organized in the following festival days,” as announced by the organizers.

Moreover, the organizers organized sports activities, workshops and tips on food every morning. Performances of numerous DJ’s will take place in the afternoon hours.
