studentski_kongresArchitectural students’ congress, 12th one, will be held from 8th until 12th May in Sarajevo in the organization of the Association of students of Architecture university, International University of Sarajevo and the Association of students of Architecture state university in Sarajevo, all in cooperation with the International University in Sarajevo.

Architectural students’ congress represents the spring annual gathering of students from ex Yugoslavia. Coordinator of the project, Senad Alibegović, said that after 9 years, Sarajevo will be the host again and that the first gatherings started in Ljubljana where this scientific and expert tradition started.

“Sarajevo is the city which after the years under the siege, kept its visual identity and the original architectural expression. However, many important objects survived the destruction and almost 20 years after the end of the war did not experience new birth. Those objects are situated in the centre of the city, on the very representative locations and they represent the exceptional but unused potential, ready for the intervention which can lead towards new, innovative and different urban transformations” emphasized Alibegović.

Congress will last 5 days, and via the intensive presentations, workshops and exhibitions on many locations in the centre of Sarajevo, and will gather around 120 students from all architectural universities from ex Yugoslavia.  In Sarajevo, students from Ljubljana, Maribor, Split, Zagreb, Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Podgorica, Skoplje, Novi Sad, Novi Pazar, Niš and Kosovska Mitrovica will take participation.
