The Sarajevo Film Festival in the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) brings thousands of guests in the summer period each year and Sarajevo is full in the winter, as well.

There are more and more tourists from across the world and many are regularly visiting Sarajevo because, as they say, there’s an excellent atmosphere and feeling of welcomeness in Sarajevo.

A team from Index.hr visited the Olympic city during the Festival, besides searching for “burek with cheese” in Sarajevo, they also toured the most fascinating location in Sarajevo and, with the help of their tour guide Adnan, learned something from the rich culture and tradition of our city.

They visited a church, the Sarajevo Brewery, several local neighborhoods and the place of the assassination of Prince Ferdinand.

“Sarajevo belongs to a list of cities that have more tourists than residents. Also, Sarajevo is less and less a season tourist city since the number of tourists is increasing throughout the year.

After the finished summer season, projects are planned to realize the full potential of the Olympic mountains, which are about 20-25 minutes of driving away from the city center.

Currently, the largest construction site in Sarajevo is on the Olympic mountain Bjelasnica, where a new cable car and artificial snow guns are being constructed. Sarajevans want to return to Bjelasnice mountain its Olympic glory, which could happen by the beginning of the next ski season,” according to Index.hr.
