One of the key measures that BiH should undertake when it comes to the placement of BH products on foreign markets is competitiveness with the products of other countries, said Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Mirko Sarovic.
Minister Sarovic stated that it is difficult to export agricultural products if they are not competitive with export brands in the region and the European Union, and in order to do this, it is necessary to achieve high-quality standards, as well as health safety, considering that they are usually food products.
“In order to be competitive, your product needs to be competitive with the prices, but incentives from society and the state are required to achieve this, and that is why it is necessary to provide cheaper fuel, which is why we insisted on the introduction of blue diesel,” explained Sarovic.
As another measure that can be implemented is the development of awareness of buying local products because if citizens check whether it is domestic product when they enter the store, and opt for it, there will be no problems with the placement of domestic products.
“We need to note that all BH manufactures are free from the presence of GMO and we need to advertise this kind of products to be significantly present on the market abroad, as well as in BiH,” said Sarovic.
He added that d a large increase in production and marketing of raspberries was recorded in BiH and that our country is among the leading countries in Europe, and there is the export of milk as well.
On the question of how to implement all of the measures that were proposed in the analysis, Minister Sarovic said it will be difficult to implement all of them, but if we implement some of the measures and work on them in continuity, results will deffinitely come.
