The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, met on Friday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, within the framework of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
On that occasion, the ministers solemnly signed the Agreement on the Abolition of Visas for Holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports, which further confirmed the mutual commitment to strengthening institutional cooperation and facilitating official contacts.
The improvement of political and economic relations was discussed, with expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its continued support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially through development projects financed by the Saudi Fund for Development.
The importance of the project to build the University Library of the University of Sarajevo, which is currently in the implementation phase, was emphasized. Special focus was on the possibilities of cooperation in the field of military industry, agriculture and rural development, and on the need to intensify high-level contacts.
The Minister reiterated the invitation for an official visit by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting took place in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, with mutual agreement on the importance of further strengthening the overall relations between the two countries, Klix.ba writes.
